Summary edit

Description
English: A hypothetical reaction sequence converting alpha-NADH (or alpha-NADPH) reversibly, with proton uptake, to a ribosyl ring-opened Schiff base intermediate. In a second step, made irreversible by cofactor oxidation, the Schiff base intermediate is cyclized to give beta-NAD+ (or beta-NADP+). Adapted from reference [1]
