| Description | Am Forstort Vogelheide verläuft die Gemarkungsgrenze von Ruhla und Bad Liebensteins Ortsteil Schweina. Der Flurname Heide belegt, das dieses Gebiet in der frühen Neuzeit bereits einmal abgeholzt war und eine Heidelandschaft entstanden war. Der Grund: Kaum einen Kilometer östlich am Rennsteig befand sich die Große Meilerstätte der Köhler dieses Gebietes. Die Wiederaufforstung um Ruhla wurde vom Ruhlaer Oberforstrath Gottlob König beaufsichtigt, sie begann um 1750 und war ein Erfolg. |
