COURSES (PROGRAMS) OF STUDY 257 A Study of this course shows that it is identical with the GeneralCourse of Study except in the matter of industrial work for girls.Whereas the general course offers a years work in cooking in either thesecond or fourth years, the manual training course for girls offers ayear of sewing and dressmaking, four periods per week, during the sec-ond year; a year of cooking, four periods per week, and a year of milli-nery, three periods, both in the third year; and further work to the ex-tent of four periods in sewing and dressmaking in the fourth year. Allof this work is elective. From this analysis it is clear that this manualtraining course for girls is in reality the general course into which havebeen introduced eleven additional periods of domestic arts work. 3.
