Construction plans for the extension of FellswayWest in Medford from its present ending at Forest Streethave been prepared, and construction may begin as soon asthe matter of the proposed street railway locations in theFells is settled. At Nahant Beach Parkway the traffic roadin the rear of the bath-house has been paved with graniteblocks. On Revere Beach Parkway nearly four miles ofroadway have been treated with the Tarvia process, whichseems to promise good success in preservation of the roadfrom destruction by automobile traffic. The particulars ofthis treatment are given more fully in the Engineers report.Construction plans have been prepared for building the firstsection of Winthrop Parkway near Eliot Circle in Revere,for which land was acquired last year. At Ne^vton UpperFalls the improvements at Boylston Street which have beenlong under way have been completed, except a portion ofstreet surfacing which is to be done by the city of Newton

In Watertownthe construction of a portion of Charles River Road throughthe United States Arsenal grounds is going on. Construc-tion plans are being prepared for building the roadway andsea walls in the remainder of Lynn Shore Reservation be-tween Red Rock and Nahant Street. These plans will con-form in general respects to the development already madealong Kings Beach in Swampscott and Lynn. Importantwork has been done in Medford on the Mystic River. Twoconcrete bridges of pleasing design have been built, one atAuburn Street and the other near the Armory. Dredgingof the river and depositing of the material for roadways onthe banks has continued. Plans for the proposed dam atCradock Bridge have been made, and have been approved,so far as required by law, by the War Department of theUnited Sta
