Much of theadvantage of the stub station is lost by requiring passengers to climb from the level nfthe station platforms up to the level of the waiting room, a rise of about 21 feet. Thestreet below the station building, will add to the difhcullifs of construction. use tracks on the east bank of the river for their northern exits. It is pro-posed to bring the Pacific Electric across the river by a high-level thirdbridge, cros.^ing over the steam roads, and thence into a depot on the eastside of Alameda Street and south of the proposed union depot for thesteam reads.
