English: Representative striping patterns in corneal epithelia of XLacZ+/- mosaic mice. Intact eyes from 3–52-week old XLacZ+/- mice were stained for β-gal reporter activity. A: 3-weeks; B: 6-weeks; C: 8-weeks; D: 10-weeks; E: 15-weeks; F: 20-weeks; G: 26-weeks with an anticlockwise whorl; H: 39-weeks exhibiting a midline; I: 52-weeks with a clockwise whorl.
