| Description |
English: Resting Stone On the north east corner of Gisburn Forest. Resting Stone in other places indicates an old Coffin Route but it is difficult to imagine one here. At over 1000' this almost marks the start of an east to west ridge covering the Bowland Fells. An eighteen mile ridge walk can be had from here crossing only two remote single track roads. A walk I completed the following day emerging eventually at Quernmore near Lancaster after a final descent from Clougha Pike. Not many people know that. |
