Español: Retato del General Bartolomé Mitre. Reproducción digital obre lienzo. 134 x 100 cm. Ulpiano Checa. 1906. Reproducción del lienzo que Checa pintó por encargo de la familia Mitre en 1906, después del fallecimiento del que fue Presidente de la República Argentina. El retrato original (300 x 248 cm) se encuentra en el Museo Mitre de Buenos Aires (Argentina). Es acaso, el mejor retrato que hizo en América, el único ecuestre y uno de los más importantes de toda su producción. En primer plano representa al general a caballo vestido con el uniforme de gala, y en el fondo, más esbozado, el campo de batalla que, sin referirse a una contienda concreta, hace alusión a sus victorias militares. |
