================Esta es una mariposa a la que es posible acercarse bastante sin que levante el vuelo ya que confía mucho en la coloración críptica de su reverso alar. Por ello no es posible ver su anverso, salvo cuando está en pleno vuelo, cerrando siempre las alas cuando se posa. Por eso de casualidad pude pillarla abriendo sus alas, y me alegre mucho aunque la foto es bastante mala Su anverso se caracteriza por poseer un color marrón oscuro, casi negro, que se encuentra atravesado por una banda postdiscal blanca Vuela en verano en ambientes más bien secos, con una sola generación anual. La hembra deja caer los huevos entre la vegetación mientras vuela. Las orugas invernan y se alimentan de varias gramíneas. |
