| Description | In Ringstad outside Norrköping, on the ester which divides the plains between Lake Glan and the sea, there is an area about 400 meters long on which some 170 graves and house foundations are to be seen. The area was partly excavated in the 1920s by the Swedish archaeologist Arthur Nordén (1891-1965). The finds indicate that the burial ground was used from centuries before the birth of Christ to the late Iron Age. Some of houses were built on the burial ground and date from the Late Iron Age to the Middles Ages. See also Ringstaholm. |
