English: In recent decades, the availability of breeding sites for the species of Kentish plover (Charadrius alexandrinus) has been reduced by the destruction of dune areas due to the expansion of tourism and has been negatively affected by human disturbance. In Italy, the species is in sharp decline and is reported as In Danger in the national Red List of vertebrates.
