English: This collection shows some parts of the River Niger, which is situated at Mariner side of Onitsha, Anambra State, east of Nigeria. River Niger is one of the largest rivers in Nigeria and a national symbol. The Niger Bridge was built for it's sake. As a matter of fact, history has it that Nigeria got her name coined from the Niger River. Various activities takes place in these parts of the river such as; sand dredging, fishing, canoeing, fetching and selling of firewoods, selling and buying of marine products and sea foods, religious activities, spiritual and traditional activities involving consultation of the water spirits, etc. People who live around there are mainly farmers, fishermen and traders . River Niger is quite a tourist attraction. It is a beautiful and adventurous place to visit and a tourist sight to behold.
Français : Cette collection montre certaines parties du fleuve Niger, situé du côté Mariner d'Onitsha, dans l'État d'Anambra, à l'est du Nigéria. Le fleuve Niger est l'un des plus grands fleuves du Nigeria et un symbole national. Le pont du Niger a été construit pour cela. En fait, l'histoire veut que le Nigeria tire son nom du fleuve Niger. Diverses activités se déroulent dans ces parties de la rivière telles que; dragage de sable, pêche, canotage, ramassage et vente de bois de chauffage, vente et achat de produits marins et fruits de mer, activités religieuses, activités spirituelles et traditionnelles impliquant la consultation des esprits de l'eau, etc. Les gens qui y vivent sont principalement des agriculteurs, des pêcheurs et des les commerçants . Le fleuve Niger est une attraction touristique. C'est un endroit magnifique et aventureux à visiter et un site touristique à voir.
