| Description |
English: River Ribble at Horseshoe Bend. It took some real bushwhacking to get in place to take this shot from the "Red Scar" bank. I found afterwards that it is the very red landslips on this bank which gave the name to Red Scar Mansion - the home of the Hoghton family which was situated just above the bank. The mansion is long gone - its place marked by a park bench - and the area is now the Red Scar Industrial Estate. |
