Summary edit

Description
English: River Stour looking towards Stourport The town of Stourport-on-Severn dates from the "canal age" when it was built as a port on the navigable River Severn and was also the point where the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal began. Compared to the wide River Severn, the non-navigable River Stour is narrow, winding and mainly out of view. Presumably it was too difficult to make navigable so the canal was built instead. Perhaps Stourport should have been called Severnport-on-Stour as it certainly isn't a port on the Stour. In this view we are looking in the direction of Stourport. It was taken from the footbridge near the end of the track from Wilden.
