English: Rivet bench mark on Aldford Bridge An impressive bench mark on the north parapet of Aldford Bridge. Unusually, a square has been cut into the rounded top of the parapet to provide a level base for the rivet and the surveying staff. The grooves in the soft sandstone, caused by wayward vehicles, show that it is indeed fortunate to have survived with only minor damage. |
