Description Riyala, bred by Crabbet Park foaled 1905, first foal registered in 1910, last registered foal recorded in 1928 [1] Mare is both pregnant in this image and not yet of advanced age, image is undated, most likely taken prior to the death of Lady Anne Blunt in 1917, as she was made available for sale in her younger years. (See The Crabbet Arabian stud: its history & influence, Rosemary Archer, Colin Pearson, Cecil Covey, Heriot & Co. Ltd, 1978)

Image known to have been published by 1945 in The Authentic Arabian Horse and His Descendants by Lady Wentworth, p. 44. Based upon Edwards, Gladys Brown. The Arabian: War Horse to Show Horse. Arabian Horse Association of Southern California, Rich Publishing, Revised Collector's edition (1973), Lady Wentworth published a catalogue annually beginning in the 1920s, with photos of several reference horses.
