Summary edit

Description
English: Overall, Rocinha was much more organized than I thought it would be. To me, it seemed like just another community. People had television, there were internet cafes, hair salons where you could get manicures and pedicures, movie and dvd rental places and at one point they even had a McDonalds. Visiting the favela really opened my eyes past the myths of violence and unhappiness that are associated with slums and shanty towns. Although the people living here are poor, they had an entire community that had anything that they might need, and a lot of it for a lot cheaper than one would find outside the favela.
