Description
English: Small vase, unique in its kind, justly considered a masterpiece of Minoan stone carving. It has an elongated body with pointed bottom made of an unusually large piece of rock crystal. The neck and splaying rim, also of rock crystal, are joined to the body by a crystal ring decorated with vertical rings of gilt faïence. The tall handle is formed by fourteen beads of gilt crystal, threaded onto a bronze wire.
Français : Petit vase, unique en son genre, justement considéré comme un chef d'oeuvre de la sculpture minion sur minéraux. Il a un corps allongé, une base pointue, le tout en une seule pièce de cristal de roche, d'une taille inusitée. L'ensemble du col, également en cristal de roche provenant d'une autre pièce, est relié au corps par un anneau de cristal décoré d'anneaux verticaux de faïence dorée. L'anse est constituée de 14 perles de cristal, montées sur une tige de bronze.

English: found in the Temple Repository of the Zakros palace, restored by the conservators of the Herakleion Archaeological Museum from hundreds of tiny fragments found in excavations.
