Description

Skull Hill, north of Old Jerusalem. According to tradition, this old quarry was used as an execution site, thus picking up the name Beit-ha-Sekilah (the Place for Stoning). Christians link this site to the martyrdom of Stephen. Because of the shape of the hill and a nearby garden with a 1st Century tomb, some Protestants also believe that this site may have be the location of Jesus' crucifixion, burial, and resurrection. Whether you side with one or the other (or don't care), both the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Garden Tomb are worthy of visits.

The Garden Tomb is located in what is believed to have been a pre-Christian vineyard. ..
