| Description |
English: A plaque from the North Carolina Department of Transportation for the historic Helen P. Gay Rocky Mount (Amtrak station) in Rocky Mount, North Carolina as taken from Hammond Street. Originally a Washington and Weldon Railroad deopt, later acquired by the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, before merging with the Seaboard Air Line Railroad and bein taken over by Amtrak. Another NCDOT plaque also exists at the nearby bus station which used to be Rocky Mount ACL Station's REA Express freight house and now serves Greyhound Buses, Trailways Buses, Tar River Transit buses, and is also the home of the "All-Aboard Restaurant." |
