The West Point Fencing Teams hosted their annual invitational on Jan. 22 at Arvin Cadet Physical Development Center, which included match-ups against several conference rivals. Photo by Mike Strasser, West Point Public Affairs The standout for the day was Cadet Alexandria Rodgers (Class of 2014), who posted a 13-2 record. She stands at 29-9 for the season. Rodgers, an epee fencer, now holds the highest win-loss percentage on the women’s team for the season, and was the highest finish for any female fencer in the history of the invitational. She helped lead her team to two victories on Saturday, upsetting Virginia Tech by a score of 17-10, and Queens College 22-5. The women finished 2-3 overall for the day, losing a tough match to Stevens Institute of Technology, the No. 2 ranked NCAA Division III Team. |
