Eiendommen var opprinnelig en husmannsplass, Lille Ringve. Etter fru Finne overtok hennes datter Elise, gift med konsul Wilhelm Schüren eiendommen, som 1893 ble solgt til Edward Webber Lipscomb. Fra 1896 var konsul Bernhard Brekke eier av Rognli, og fra 1914 herredsingeniør Hallfred Høyem. Eiendommen var beslaglagt av tyskerne under den andre verdenskrig. Schüren oppførte en stor villa i dragestil på eiendommen. Bygningen, som ble levert som ferdighus i tømmer av firmaet Jacob Digre (ark. Karl Norum), eksisterer fortsatt.
