Summary edit

Description Located at the crossroad of the Via Belgca and Via Treverorum, Coriovallum (modern Heerlen) hosts the most ancient building of Netherlands - roman Baths built around 40 AD. The site was excavated and preserved exceptionally well: visitors now can see all 500 meters of Roman wall work and some 2500 m2 of floor space. Informative audio guides and 3D restitutions are provided. The museum within the building is small but it has a few nice objects. The ancient Heerlen was also known for its pottery. One well preserved Gallo-roman kiln is exhibited outside the main building.
