Title
Roman table fitting, detail
Description
English: A finely-modelled fitting in the form of a naked and cloaked male figure identifed as Attys. He is cut off at the thighs and rises from a calyx of curling leaves. The figure holds a lamb in the crook of his left arm and the remains of a staff in his (missing) right hand. The head is worn but there is the suggestion of head gear, perhaps a Phrygian cap. The leaves form a 'cup' below the figure and there is an oval aperture in the base.
