English: Round roofed barn and a well kept lawn This view is from the side of the B886 in Lusta.
Beyond, the village on the shore of Loch Bay is Stein. The solitary cottage on the shore roughly central in the picture is the boathouse of Waternish House which was lived in by singer Donovan when he created a 'hippy commune' at Stein in the early 1970's. The headland on the left is Dunvegan Head, while Ardmore Point is on the right. The low islands are (from the left) Isay, Mingay and Clett, with the tiny Sgier nam Biast this side of them. The mountains on the horizon are on Uist in the Outer Hebrides. |
