Summary edit

Description
English: The roads are powerful factors of landscape fragmentation, because they scare away animals and/or because of the inconvenience and the artificial landscape. , In addition, animals are being crushed by vehicles. (roadkill). Propagules of plants or of certain lichens can hardly pass through ou not pass.
Roadside seem to be good as green corridors, but they are polluted by exhaust gas and catalytic materials, and the risk of roadkill and predation is increased (lack of caches)
For animals who refuse to cross a road, three or four intersecting roads are the equivalent of an "ecological island" which they can not escape. Millions of these islands were created by road
