English: Royal Court Former Staff and Stable Block of the Royal Hotel The main London to Birmingham Railway Line was opened in 1837, and the hotel was opened the following year to provide food, drink, accommodation and horse transport for passengers using the station. It has now been converted to flats.
See the 1877 Ordnance Survey www.hertfordshire-genealogy.co.uk/links/tring-station-1877.htm In the 1851 census there were 18 resident grooms, but by 1881 there was only one resident ostler. |
