Summary edit

Description

Built in 1345, this was the first Russian Orthodox church in Lithuania founded by Duchess Maria Jaroslavna, the Russian wife of Algirdas, the Grand Duke of Lithuania. In the course of its history, the church was twice ravaged by fire. In Soviet times the building was turned into a museum but since 1991 it's been used for worship again.
