Runestone Sö 240 at Ribby, Södermanland, Sweden

English translation of runic text: Sveinn had the stone raised in memory of Hróðgísl, his father.

Swedish: I Ribby (Västerhaninge) står det en runsten från 1000-telet e.K och runraden lyder, "suin . lit . raisa . stain . at . roþisl . faþr . sin", runristaren är troligen Amunde.

Översättning enligt skylten är, "Sven lät resa stenen efter Rodisl, sin fader", på den kan man även läsa följande: "Stenen står troligen på sin ursprungliga plats. Sven är det vanligaste namnet i vikingatida runskrifter. Rodisl är däremot mycket ovanligt, med något undantag är det bara känt från Gotland".

Man bör även notera att stenen troligen stått här ganska länge och att organiskt material och grus under årens lopp gjort att runradens undre del snart är täckt, egentligen borde den grävas fram så att runraden inte vittrar sönder på den nedre delen vilket har vart ett ganska vanligt öde för många runstenar.
