The original finding aid described this as: Description: Vertical tail, orbital maneuvering system (OMS) pods, right wing tip, and payload bay (PLB) equipment and experiments including (front to back) Shuttle Pallet Satellite (SPAS) 01, Materials Experiment Assembly (MEA) mounted on Office of Space and Terrestrial Applications (OSTA) 2 Mission Peculiar Equipment Support System (MPESS), spacecraft sunshield closed over thermal- covered airborne support equipment (ASE), and remote manipulator system (RMS) arm stowed on port side longeron are highlighted against Earth's cloud-covered surface. Get away special (GAS) canisters mounted on starboard longeron and on port side longeron appear in foreground.
