Description
Deutsch: Zwischen Haltepunkt und dem Kasernengebäude, das inzwischen ein Sitz der Deutschen Rentenversicherung ist.

Der Turm wurde 1898 für die Wasserversorgung der König-Georg-Kaserne gebaut. Er war jedoch nur wenige Jahre in Betrieb, bis die beiden Wassertürme an der Olbrichtstraße fertiggestellt wurden. In den 1920er Jahren wurde der Wasserbehälteraufsatz entfernt und der Turm erhielt sein heutiges Aussehen.

Bis zur Aufgabe der Kaserne und dem Bau der S-Bahn im Zug der Strecke 6382 Wahren–Leipzig Hbf war der Turm wegen seiner Unzugänglichkeit nur wenigen bekannt. Der Name »Pulverturm« dürfte durch die Lage im Kasernengelände entstanden sein.
