Description

The 69th Division, in early March, drove the Germans from dominating positions in the heart of the Siegfried Line. Answers to the soldiers' reactions to combat are as varied as the men themselves... "I prayed like I never prayed before," said Pfc. Willey E. Thompson, of Houston, Miss. 4 March, 1945. Near Ramscheid, Germany.
