Description
English: SDS Hansteen, the world's oldest research vessel, and the first such built in Norway in 1866. It is also the first dedicated ship in Norway doing polar research. The ship is a typical representative of the period of transformation from sail to steam (SDS=Seildampship, or sail steam-ship). Here sailing the Trondheim Fjord with Munkholmen fortress.
