Description

c/n S.107 Built in 1976 as a Jaguar GR.1 with the British military serial XZ106. Initially served with II(AC) Squadron as part of RAF Germany. She would later be upgraded to GR.3 and finally GR.3A standard and would serve with 16, 41 and 54 Squadrons as well as the Strike Attack Operational Evaluation Unit (SAOEU). She flew 35 missions during ‘Operation Granby’ (the 1991 Gulf War) and also took part in ‘Operation Deliberate Force’ (Bosnia) during 1994. She was retired to StAthan for spares recovery in May 2005 and sold off in 2006, joining the collection here in November 2008. She wears the markings of 41 Squadron with what would have been a temporary ‘winter’ camouflage. RAF Manston History Museum Manston, Kent, UK
