Description From AWM caption : A group of unidentified sailors surround a 15cm (5.9 inch) gun on the deck of the German armed merchant raider, SMS Wolf. The gun was hidden under sheets of canvas when not in use and the railing could be lowered on hinges allowing the gun barrel to protrude from the ship. When the guns were not in use, the raider could be easily disguised as a merchant ship. This image is from a collection relating to the voyage of the German raider, SMS Wolf (II), and was taken by an unidentified crew member.
