DescriptionSTS-126 Stephen Bowen and Shane Kimbrough use virtual reality hardware in the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility.jpg |
English: Astronauts Stephen G. Bowen (foreground) and Robert S. (Shane) Kimbrough, both STS-126 mission specialists, use virtual reality hardware in the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility at NASA's Johnson Space Center to rehearse some of their duties on the mission to the International Space Station. This type of virtual reality training allows the astronauts to wear special gloves and other gear while looking at computer displays simulating actual movements around the various locations on the station hardware with which they will be working. David J. Homan, Virtual Reality Lab Manager, assisted Bowen and Kimbrough. |
