Summary edit

Description
English: Looking up at the southwest side of the statue "Aspiration and Literature", one of two statues that make up the work The Arts of Peace. The Arts of Peace are statues which adorn either side of the southern entrance of the Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway in Washington, D.C., in the United States. They were designed by sculptor James Earle Fraser, and erected in 1951. The centerpiece of the statue is the mythical winged horse Pegasus, the source of inspiration and poetry. The southwest side of the work depicts a nude male on Pegasus' right with a toga over his left shoulder and an open book in his trailing right hand, symbolic of literature.
