Description
English: Tibet, 18th CAD. Vajrasattva, the 6th Dhyani buddha is generally known as priest of the group of 5 dhyani buddhas. he is seated in vajraparyankasana. sakti is shown embracing buddha. she holds kartri in her right hand and kapala in her left. In tibet, the word "yab" means hon'ble father and "Yum" means hon'ble mother. "Yab-yum" means the father in the company of the mother or in her embrace. This form depicting the ultimate eternal bliss has a deep spiritual significance.
