Summary edit

Description
English: Salisbury cathedral clock at Salisbury Cathedral (St. Mary's), Salisbury, UK. Built sometime around 1386, this may be the oldest working clock in existence, and is one of the oldest mechanical clocks in the world. It had no face; it was mounted in a bell tower, and it's function was to strike the canonical hours on a bell, to call the community to prayer. Picture taken 28 July 2014.
