Summary edit

Description
English: I missed the tidal bore in Qiantang River when I visited Hangzhou in 2007. This time I arrived well ahead of the tidal bore time and caught the noisy bore in action. Though not very impressive as I thought, it was still bigger than a ripple. You have to be there in person to appreciate its full beauty as the thundering noise could not be captured by the camera. The turbulence is visible as the still river surface was disturbed behind the bore head. It resembles waves reaching beaches. It is in fact a wave.

Own work Picture taken on 22 Oct 2009 by the River Salmon about 2 km downstream the crossing of highway 102 (Exit 14)

The tidal bore is not the biggest as local people informed me but still impressive for first time viewer.
Author Jakemete The picture was taken by me with a digital camera but its size was reduced for the web.
