Summary edit

Description
English: Vice Adm. Mel Williams Jr., commander of U.S. 2nd Fleet, renders a salute while walking through a procession of ship's side boys during his visit to the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson. Williams came to observe the progress of the ship's refueling complex overhaul at Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding in Newport News, Va. The overhaul is an extensive yard period that all Nimitz-class aircraft carriers go through near the mid-point of their 50-year life cycle.
