English: Salwick railway station, The Fylde, 2012 Originally opened in 1840 by the Preston & Wyre Joint Railway on its line from Preston to Blackpool and Fleetwood. View east towards Lea Road and Preston, some 8 years before the line was electrified. See SD4632 : Salwick railway station, The Fylde for a 2021 view from a similar position. Compare also to SD4632 : Salwick Station, with trains racing. Not much chance of Express trains racing each other to get to Blackpool on summer Saturdays any more! |
