Description
English: Long vertical sampler worked in colored silks on a linen ground. The upper register has stylized floral vines. In the center, "Elizabeth Thurston Look well to what you take in hand for larning is better then house or land When land is gone and money is spent then larning is most excellent. Aged 15 August the 9 1703". In the lower register are two columns holding flower urns with a heart and crown in between, two zebras, and the initials JH and ET.
