Edificio construido para albergar la sede del Real Club Marítimo de Santander el 13 de Octubre de 1927 con la presencia de S.M. el Rey Alfonso XIII. Las obras se realizaron bajo la dirección del arquitecto laredano D. Gonzalo Bringas Vega (1880-1943), terminándose en 1934.

Es una construcción de tres alturas levantada sobre la bahía. Es de estilo funcional sin ningún tipo de licencia ornamental.

Organizador de numerosas regatas de rango nacional e internacional, hoy sigue siendo impulsor de múltiples eventos y actividades relacionadas con los deportes náuticos.
