Sault Ste. Marie Internment Camp

During Canada's first national internment operations of 1914-1920, thousands of Ukrainians and other Europeans were rounded up as "enemy aliens". This plaque recalls the internee receiving station established in The Armoury at Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, 13 January 1915 to 29 January 1918.

Au cours du premier programme national d'internement institué en sol canadien, des millier d'immigrants européens, d'origine ukrainienne sorutout, furent internés entre 1914 et 1920 en tant qu'"étrangers d'une nationalité ennemie". Cette plaque est dédiée à la mémoire des prisonniers qui sont passés par le post d'entrée établi au Manège militaire de Sault Ste. Marie, en Ontario, entre le 13 janvier 1915 et le 29 janvier 1918.

Під час першої всеканадської операції інтернування (1914-20 рр.) держава ув'язнила й переслідувала тисяці українців та інших европейських вихідців, як "підданих ворожої держави". Цісю меморіяльною дошкою позначасться місце, де збирали інтернованих в арсеналі м. Су-Сент-Марі, пров. Онтаріо з 13 січня 1915 року до 29 січня 1918 року.
