The weighbridge at the front of the building was forged by H. Pooley & Son of Liverpool & Glasgow, and was used for weighing animals in their carts or creels. The scales itself, along with the weights remain inside the building.

Description
English: The Market House has been used as a branch of the Credit Union since 1986. The building was originally built as a Market House around the 1820s, and retained its use as a Market House from the mid 1800s to the mid 1900s. It was used by local farmers to sell their grain, pigs, hens, turkeys, etc. The weighbridge at the front of the building was forged by H. Pooley & Son of Liverpool & Glasgow, and was used for weighing animals in their carts or creels. The scales itself, along with the weights remain inside the building.
