Description

This vehicle dates from the 1930s, and according to the notice next to it, is slightly inauthentic as the Great Western Railway (GWR) apparently didn't use these "mechanical horses", although other British rail companies of the time did.

Seen at the STEAM Museum in Swindon.

HISTORICAL NOTE: It is a correct GWR livery (I would guess), but on the wrong vehicle.
The GWR did use Mechanical Horses, the predecessor to these (with much squarer, wooden cab). This model, the Scarab, did not appear until 1948, after the GWR had been nationalised, and hence the GWR could not possibly have used them.
