Description
Deutsch: Schatzkammer der Münchner Residenz:
Prunkkette, oberitalienisch (Mailand?), um 1575, Inv. 57.
Die Smaragde wurden 1931 durch Glas-Imitationen ersetzt (und verkauft?). – Die Kette galt früher als Münchner Arbeit (so z. B. 1970 im Katalog von Herbert Brunner). – Der Zusammenhang mit der benachbart ausgestellten Georgs-Statuette ergibt sich daraus, dass die Kette im 19. Jh. von den bayerischen Königen in ihrer Funktion als Großmeister des Sankt-Georgs-Ritterordens bei den Festen des Ordens getragen wurde.
