Description
English: Schematische Darstellung der kolorektalen Karzinogenese und des Prinzips der Vorsorge. Das kolorektale Karzinom (CRK) entwickelt sich in einem langjährigen, asymptomatischen Prozess aus gutartigen Vorläuferläsionen. Durch die Detektion präkanzeröser Vorstufen und asymptomatischer Frühkarzinome wird die Inzidenz/Mortalität reduziert. Die häufigen, jedoch harmlosen isolierten winzigen Polypen <6 mm haben kaum ein relevantes Krebsrisiko (links). Symptomatische Spätstadien profitieren weitaus weniger von der Vorsorge (rechts)
