English: Stone cross at the entrance of Museum of the Schwalm in Ziegenhain
Deutsch: Das Steinkreuz aus Sandstein ist ein Sühne- oder Memorialstein und steht heute am Eingang des "Steinernen Hauses", heute Sitz des Museums der Schwalm in Ziegenhain. Es ist etwa 90 Zentimeter hoch und 56 Zentimeter breit (mit beiden Armen) und 19 Zentimeter dick. Früher stand es am westlichen Ortsausgang von Asterode (Ortsteil von Neukirchen (Knüll)) an der Bundesstraße 454, wo heute eine Nachbildung des Kreuzes steht. Es soll 1920 gefunden worden sein. Die Steinritzung zeigt ein Pflugsech (ein Pflugmesser, das das Erdreich für die Pflugschar vorschneidet). Das Pflugsech ist etwa 45 Zentimeter lang und 10 Zentimeter breit. Dieses Berufszeichen des Bauernstandes soll damit vermutlich an einen Mord eines Bauern erinnern. Das Kreuz könnte aufgestellt worden sein, um an einen Mord, der um 1580 begangen wurde, zu erinnern.
